Handisport start / Joëlette
DISABLED RUNNERS WILL BENEFIT FROM AN EARLY START
21.1 k and 10 k events are open to disabled runners. A ‘handisport’ start will be given in advance at 07.58 for the 21.1 k and at 10.58 for the 10 k.
Disabled athletes will set off a few minutes beforehand from the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, using a PRM lane to access to the safety area before the start, and will follow the same route as the other competitors.
In accordance with the regulations of the French Disabled Sports Federation, the event is open to disabled runners but will not be authorised for ‘hand bike’ or ‘hand cycling’ participants. Any rider taking part in the race as a handisport rider must comply with the current safety regulations issued by the authorities, for example: wearing a helmet, etc.
There will be a special prize-giving ceremony for the Handisport race (standing category and wheelchair category) and a dedicated ranking on the event website.
Joëlette start
The event accepts the participation of joëlettes with their pushers up to a limit of 5 joëlettes over the whole event. For safety reasons, competitors in joëlettes will be obliged to start behind the race pack, using the joëlette lane to access the safety area before the start.
Any team wishing to enter a joëlette is invited to contact the registration department (verosportup@gmail.com) before registering.
